Nowadays the prospection and management of underground resources benefit from the inputs of satellite/aerial imagery and GIS techniques. Keyobs offers a wide range of services that are based on a strong geological expertise.

Digital elevation models
Using DEM for orthorectification is most important to get highly geometrically reliable spacemaps. The products derived from the processing of satellite images are then used to carry out analyses in 3D (anaglyph techniques), to extract geological and geomorphological information and to explore landuse. In collaboration with mining and engineering companies such as ZincOx, Freedom Gold, MIBA, Fichtner et Coyne & Belier, Keyobs produced some digital elevation models on various scales out of satellite images
(ASTER, SPOT)and/or thanks to the digitizing of topographic maps and data acquired in the field. The level of detail reached made it possible to bring out geological structures, to analyze watersheds, to carry out hydrological analyses or to make a 3D visualization for a detailed environmental analysis.

Satellite imagery analyses
With its utmost remote sensing technics, Keyobs offers a wide range of products derived from images such as :
very high resolution products (IKONOS, QuikBird) for urban planning, healthcare, electric networks implementation, water distribution or urban mapping,
high resolution products(ASTER, SPOT, LANDSAT, ERS, RADARSAT) for vegetation analysis, geology, geomorphology, regional mapping or digital elevation models.
Our expertise in hyperspectral image analysis makes it possible to analyze polluted industrial sites, to monitor mining sites as well as the how pollution affects the soil. A project is currently being carried out with the aim to assess the impact of mining pollution in Romanian extraction sites and the impact of industrial pollution along the River Meuse.

Mining and geological database

Keyobs partook several projects that led to the creation of a mining database over Africa. Two database are now available for sale: one dealing with geological information on D.R.C and the other dealing with the Kayes's tectonic window (Mali). An ongoing project aims at creating a geological database for the MIBA company(Minieres Bakwanga) in the Province of Kasayi Oriental.

In the framework of its activities, Keyobs digitized two detailed database on basis of satellite image processing and remote sensing techniques.
